The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain: 40th Anniversary
From:08-10-2025
To:08-10-2025
+ More Info +

It’s 1985 - Wham are topping charts and everyone has enormous hair. The first ever mobile phone (the size of a brick) is on sale and scientists locate the site of the sunken Titanic.
Microsoft Windows is launched, and Bob Geldof persuades just about everyone to appear in the biggest line up we’ve ever seen to raise millions for Live Aid. Back to the Future is on our screens, the first episode of Eastenders is beamed into British homes, and what’s THAT coming over the hill? Why, it’s the sixteen-handed, all-singing, all-plucking Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, and they’re coming this way…

Four decades (and 400,000,000 plucks) later they’re still thrilling audiences with their off-beat humour and four-stringed virtuosity from Tasmania to the Arctic Circle, Windsor Castle to Carnegie Hall.

Formed as the antidote to mindless pop, egocentric rock, and the indulgent, bluster of the music business, what is the secret of their longevity? Perhaps it’s the menagerie of voices in a collision of post-punk performance and toe-tapping classics? Or the fact that there are no drums, pianos, backing tracks, guitars, or banjos, no pitch shifters or electronic trickery - just an astonishing revelation of the rich palette of orchestration afforded by ukuleles plus fulsome vocals.

Come and celebrate the 40th anniversary of this much-loved institution, on a white-knuckle shopping-trolley dash through every kind of musical genre. From ABBA to ZZ Top, Tchaikovsky to Nirvana, Bluegrass to Broadway with maybe a Spaghetti Western thrown in.

The Ukulele Orchestra proudly present their 40th Year Anniversary World Tour “with only hand luggage”; a witty, quirky, irreverent, awesome, foot-stomping obituary of rock-n-roll and melodious light entertainment, all played on the "bonsai guitar”.

Catch them whilst you can.

+ More Info +

After a barnstorming 2024 which saw Myra sell-out venues across the UK and Ireland with her critically acclaimed show ‘Be Well’, registered empath Myra Dubois returns to the stage with a brand-new show 'Cosmic Empath'.
The empath strikes back! Boldly caring where compassion has never cared before. An adventure giving you time (and space) to heal. When questioned on her upcoming tour, Ms DuBois stated:

“Most people would spend some time idling on the shores of some far off semi-private island after enduring the workload 2024 dumped on my plate, but not me! How could I desert my public, right as I need them most? I’ve consulted my own wellness guide, the very Reverend Dr Guru Malcolm, and he tells me that right now every star of the cosmos is looking at me with expectation. I don’t think my new show 'Cosmic Empath' shall let them down!”

Cosmic Empath sees Myra DuBois questioning where her great gift for compassion comes from. Her up-bringing? Her ancestors? The cosmos? Who can say?

All we know is that with Myra’s trademark killer wit and a singing voice that’s truly like no-one else’s, it’s going to be out of this world!

To:19-10-2025
+ More Info +

Legendary Irish folk music band Dervish, are one of Ireland's best known traditional bands and are described by the BBC as an icon of Irish music.
Dervish received a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the BBC in 2019, a fitting tribute to the band after over 30 years of recording and performing all over the world, playing at festivals from Rio to Glastonbury.

Dervish have a line-up which includes some of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians, fronted by one of the country’s best-known singers, Cathy Jordan. Regarded by many as the most distinctive voice and finest front-woman in Irish traditional music today - the instrumental line-up of fiddle, flute, bouzouki, mandola, bodhran and accordion draw from seemingly limitless depths of talent, finesse, subtlety and fiery energy. Exceptional musicianship, breath-taking vocals, vibrant sets of tunes and instantly compelling songs all come together to make Dervish as complete a band as are to be found anywhere in the tradition.

Dervish are regular visitors to the US, performing sell out shows from coast to coast. However, their fan base stretches across several continents, including Europe, Asia, and South America. They were the first Irish band to play the world’s biggest music festival, Rock in Rio, performing to an estimated 250,000 people. Over the years they’ve been on the same bill as artists such as James Brown, Neil Young, Sting and even Iron Maiden!

All six members of Dervish are steeped in the musical traditions of counties Sligo and Leitrim in north-west Ireland. It’s an area which matches Atlantic coastline with storied mountains and rural landscapes. It has inspired a host of musicians, artists and writers, including the Nobel Prize-winning poet W. B. Yeats.

Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason: To Be Young, Gifted and Black
From:21-10-2025
To:21-10-2025
+ More Info +

From the mother of an extraordinary family, comes an extraordinary book, where author Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason asks what it means - and how it feels - to grow up as a Black artist today.
When Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason’s eldest daughter, Isata, made her solo debut at the BBC Proms in 2023, she could not have been prouder. Watching years of hard work transform into a transcendent performance was profoundly moving, both as music-lover and parent. But the subsequent online abuse that Isata experienced brought into question how you prepare your child for the fact that no matter their talent, technique or dedication, they will be told they do not belong?

In this conversation, Kadiatu explores her family’s journey and what it’s like to come of age in these turbulent times, when Black artistic self-expression is so often met with abuse online – and offers a hopeful, powerful way through. As well as being an author and former lecturer, Kadiatu has won numerous accolades and awards including a Lifetime Award for Contribution to Children’s Arts at the 2018 J.M. Barrie Awards, She was also made an Honorary Fellowship of The Royal Academy of Music in 2022.

‘This exceptional book, written with a mother’s love for her seven creative children, sensitively offers profound and original insights and perspectives that enrich our culture. I feel so much wiser for reading it.’ Bernardine Evaristo

The Good, The Bad & The Rugby is a weekly podcast starring England legends James Haskell and Mike Tindall, alongside noted broadcaster Alex Payne, that debuted at No. 1 in the Apple charts before releasing its first episode.
Featuring some of the biggest names across rugby, as well as the wider sporting and pop-cultural realms, it has attracted a cult following due to its rare ability to draw in the core rugby fan while cutting through and engaging a wider audience too.

Such success is due to the show’s USP: the special connection between Alex (Good), James (Bad) and Mike (Rugby), as well as their guests. These relationships allow the guys to capture the personalities and characters of guests, inside and outside rugby, digging beneath the veneer to unearth real, raw stories. There is no defining an episode, no silly gimmicks; it’s an intoxicating cocktail of humour, sadness, anger. A rollercoaster of emotions slotted into an hour and a half.

Grayson Perry: Are You Good?
From:30-10-2025
To:30-10-2025
+ More Info +

Are You Good? A question that I think is fundamental to our humanity.
In this show I will be helping you, the audience, find out if you really are thoroughly good or maybe quite evil, but in a fun way.

I always start out with the assumption that people are born good and then life happens. So, let’s pull back the curtain and see where your morals truly lie. Are you as virtuous as you think? With lots of audience participation (don’t worry, no one leaves unscathed) and a few silly songs we’ll have an entertaining evening and come out with our core values completely in tatters. Is it more important to be good or to be right?

It’s time to update what is a virtue and what is a sin. No biggie.

Yours truly,

Grayson Perry

Ardal O'Hanlon: Not Himself
From:01-11-2025
To:01-11-2025
+ More Info +

Oh, it’s all there! All the trademarks are in evidence in Ardal’s latest show. Beautifully crafted stand-up comedy? Yes. Celebrated use of language? Tick. Lateral thinking, surreal flourishes, sharp observations? Of course. As for the occasional profundity? Maybe.
Despite his best attempts over many decades to put the world to rights, it is still a colossal mess. And so, Ardal has no choice but to go out on the road again.

Like the good comedy doctor he is, he fearlessly diagnoses the various pathologies and neuroses that are currently ravaging humanity. Disclaimer: No solutions provided.

After an alarming experience at the supermarket, Ardal reflects on who he is as a man and a comedian. He examines his own ethnic and religious background. And thinks twice about the very core of his identity as a voice of reason.

Is everything a big lie? With no major trauma of his own to draw on for material, apart from the drag of getting older, he also turns his gaze outwards at the joys and follies of contemporary life.

Towel Animals? A.I.? Chair Yoga? Cauliflower as a main course? Yes. Yes. Yes. And Yes. No current idiocy is left unexamined. With a highly developed sense of the ridiculous, and proper comedy bones, Not Himself, is a testament to the healing power of humour. And the joy of jokes.

Ardal is not only an acclaimed stand-up comedian who has performed world-wide. He will be familiar to many from his appearances in TV shows such as Taskmaster and Would I Lie To You?, leading roles in Death in Paradise, Father Ted and My Hero.

As well as cameos in Derry Girls, The Woman in the Wall, and Rosie Mallow Gives Up Everything. He will soon be seen in the feature film, Fran The Man, and the new Netflix series, How To Get To Heaven From Belfast, as well as the CW drama, Sherlock and Daughter.

Mina has been fighting for justice ever since - for her daughters, and for the rest of us, by challenging the toxic culture in the Metropolitan Police and calling out the wider institutional misogyny, racism and classism in Britain. In her memoir, A Better Tomorrow, she tells her story for the first time. Starting from her childhood in foster care and arriving at the present day, Mina looks back on her time as a schoolteacher, and then as the first woman of colour to be an Archdeacon in the Church of England, before sharing her experience of losing her two daughters, Bibaa and Nicole.

From:06-11-2025
To:06-11-2025
+ More Info +

A powerful reflection on race, racism and writing from the Orwell Prize-winning journalist, Gary Younge, an honorary graduate of the University of Warwick.
‘Responsible but not beholden; substantial as well as symbolic; sympathetic but not pandering; political but not proscriptive: there’s not an awful lot of wiggle room there, but it’s the space in which I feel I need to both operate and expand.’

In this event, we hear from one of the nation’s leading political voices, as he delivers his incisive, moving and personal essay live, exploring the ‘burden of representation’.

Gary Younge analyses the pressures exerted upon the relatively small group of people from underrepresented communities, who break through into elite spaces and the expectations that may come from above, below, within and outwith, from those with power and those without. These are issues that have framed, frustrated, inspired, and inflected his entire working life as a writer.

Younge offers reflections on how to navigate representation, power and responsibility while keeping your job, your sanity and your freedom both as a human being and as a writer.

Part of a series of exciting events taking place throughout 2025 to celebrate the University of Warwick's landmark 60th Anniversary.

Babr Jungr: Dylan and Cohen Hallelujah on Desolation Row
From:14-11-2025
To:14-11-2025
+ More Info +

Celebrating the early 2025 release of her new album, “Hallelujah on Desolation Row,” acclaimed singer and writer Barb Jungr, “Our greatest interpreter of Dylan’s songs,” brings her award winning interpretations and challenging new arrangements to this all-new collection of Dylan and Cohen’s iconic songs.
“Barb Jungr interprets Dylan and Cohen’s work with a ferocity and truthfulness that demolishes every cover version you’ve ever heard” - The New York Times

Having curated the first ever UK festival of Bob Dylan -- Visions of Dylan, at Farnham Maltings -- Barb now embarks on an album release and series of shows celebrating two of the most legendary contemporary songwriters of the western world.

One of the most extraordinary British performers of her generation, Barb Jungr’s formidable talent as a singer, composer and lyricist is only outshone by her ability to reinterpret familiar songs and reveal new depths of meaning and beauty. Internationally acclaimed, Jungr continues to evolve her signature style while her transcendent artistry both live and recorded continues to delight audiences.

“The brilliant jazz singer on world-beating form. Barb Jungr proves she's a genuine jazz marvel... A true musical alchemist” - The Telegraph

Working with her longstanding pianist and collaborator Simon Wallace, and a double bass, Barb will include her groundbreaking arrangements of two of the most important songwriters of this and last century. Songs include Hallelujah, Desolation Row, Tonight Will Be Fine, Tower of Song, Mississippi, and more.

"Bob Dylan, jazz, northern soul, Nina Simone and continental Europe’s cabaret music perform a subtle dance in Jungr’s consciousness” - The Guardian.

In 2014, Barb followed her award-winning, internationally acclaimed collection of Dylan songs, “Every Grain Of Sand,” with “Hard Rain”, laying herself bare to Dylan’s and Cohen’s political and philosophical songs. “Hard Rain” gained a plethora of 4- and 5-star reviews for its uncompromising and powerful renditions. Bob Dylan’s manager called it “some heavy music.” Praise indeed. She performed this repertoire in a 3-week, sold-out, rave reviewed run at New York's 59E59 Theatre. Jungr’s dedication to reinventing Dylan’s and Cohen’s repertoire has contributed to her formidable reputation as perhaps the best performer of their songs in the world.

Level 42
From:16-11-2025
To:16-11-2025
+ More Info +

Level 42 are delighted to announce that they will embark upon The World Machine Anniversary Tour in 2025, which will visit 28 UK venues.
All of the shows will feature Special Guests Roachford. The tour will celebrate this landmark – and indeed breakthrough – album for Level 42, and the band will also, of course, be breaking out many of their classic era-defining hits.

‘World Machine’ was the album that changed everything for Level 42, and set them on the path to true super-stardom. Released in 1985, it was a hit both here and in the States, and has now been certified double Platinum. It was on this album, the band’s sixth, that arguably they nailed down the sound and the style that made them one of the biggest groups in the world. On this album they refined the funky pop fusion that had grown from their jazz roots - and had already brought them serious success - and truly made it their own. ‘World Machine’ features the singles ‘Something About You’ (the band's only American top 10 hit) and ‘Leaving Me Now’, and it showed the band’s progression in style and confidence that would lead to their massive ‘Running In The Family’ album the following year.

Mark King said, “I am so excited to be able to announce The ‘World Machine’ 40th Anniversary Tour for 2025. As our amazing fans will know, ‘World Machine’ marked a turning point in the band’s career, not least in the international success the album gave us. So, I am looking forward to seeing you all out there next Autumn when we can romp through all those songs again together. Love to all, Mark X”

Four decades on from the release of ‘World Machine’, Level 42 are still in demand the world over. This UK tour celebrates a great album, but is also an opportunity simply to witness one of the most popular and enduring British bands doing what they do best.

The Oresteia: Libation Bearers and Eumenides
From:29-01-2026
To:30-09-2025
+ More Info +

Warwick Classics Society presents Aeschylus’ Oresteia (Libation Bearers and Eumenides), a stand-alone play continuing from 2025’s spectacular Agamemnon.
Orestes is told by Apollo there is only one way to avenge his father’s murder- to kill his mother in turn. If he doesn’t, he will be haunted by his father’s enraged spirits. Conflict abounds, and the decision reached leaves the royal house of Argos collapsing. Furies and gods flood the stage, as these plays extend from a family affair to one of cosmic importance. Clear-cut lines between living and dead, human and god, Olympian and chthonic dissolve as the play and its protagonist descends into madness.
Whether you’re familiar with Greek theatre and myth, or have no prior knowledge, The Oresteia will be an electrifying play that shows the boldness and experimental imagination of Greek dramatist Aeschylus.

There comes a day when you look around and wonder “is the world a raging bin fire, or is it perimenopause?” The answer, my friend, is “yes”.
Authentic, curious, and gleefully irascible, storyteller and comedian Desiree Burch leads a madcap voyage through the Middle Ages - AKA the mid-life crisis, and its mandatory metamorphosis – in her new stand-up show.

Desiree brings both childlike wonder and crone-like wit to the experiences of losing sleep, relevance, knee cartilage, oestrogen, youth, and illusions in a laugh-packed show that celebrates the fury and freedom found when you’ve accepted that time has ruined your plans, but roll up your sleeves to fight it anyway.

Desiree Burch is an American comedian who has appeared across the UK’s biggest comedy shows, including Taskmaster, The Mash Report, Live At The Apollo, Travelman, The Last Leg, QI, and more. She’s also the wisecracking narrator of Netflix's iconic guilty pleasure Too Hot to Handle.

Horror author Nick Steen is having visions… A sinister Black Steeple; eerie lights in the sky that look like a Catherine wheel but are not remotely a Catherine wheel… Plus a giant skeleton with a moustache. Are they omens? Auguries? Portenderings of things to come? (Spoiler - yes, they are).
For Nick Steen’s imagination is bursting out of his brain and threatening to burst in turn the entirety of Stalkford.

Can Nick stop the aforesaid bursting? Or have things already slightly burst regardless? And will there ultimately be a grand finale to this three-book series (aka a trilogy) or a more open-ended conclusion in order to leave potential room for further sequels? (That, btw, will ultimately be Garth’s decision.)

From the fevered imaginata of Horror Fiction’s Grand Frightener Garth Marenghi, author of Sunday Times-Bestselling Garth Marenghi’s TerrorTome and Garth Marenghi’s Incarcerat, come three freshly rancid tales of…

Ray’s previous shows Deaf Com One and Doppelginger were huge successes and sold-out theatres across the world.
