WHAT ARE THEATRE TOKENS?
Theatre Tokens are gift vouchers which are exchangeable for tickets at theatres across the UK, including London's West End. See a full list of participating theatres.
As of 2017, Theatre Tokens are now available as plastic Gift Cards and eGifts, available in any amount from £5. Pre-2017, Theatre Tokens were paper vouchers available in denominations of £5, £10 and £20. As Theatre Tokens have no expiry date, all variations of the Tokens are still redeemable, but some older versions of the voucher may need to be replaced for security reasons, see our information on ‘legacy vouchers’.
Alongside being useable at theatres nationwide, Theatre Tokens can also be used to pay for up to 50% of theatre breaks booked with SuperBreak (tel 01904 717 362 or www.superbreak.com) and St Albans Travel (tel 0871 222 1128 or www.theatrebreaks.com).
I HAVE FOUND SOME OLD TOKENS, CAN I STILL USE THEM?
Theatre Tokens have no expiry date so as long as they haven’t already been redeemed you can use them forever. For security reasons, some older versions of our Theatre Tokens will need to be replaced before using. We call these our ‘legacy vouchers’ and you can find out more here.
WHERE CAN I BUY THEATRE TOKENS?
You can buy Gift Cards and eGifts online here, and Gift Cards over the phone on our Tokenline 020 3011 0755 or in person from participating theatres or high street shops:
CAN THEATRE TOKENS BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE RECIPIENT?
Yes, we can send them directly to the recipient if you supply us with their name, address and an accompanying message. For plastic Gift Cards the recipient must live in the UK, but our eGifts can be sent straight to their email inbox anywhere in the world!

All orders are despatched on the next working day (Monday-Friday) via Royal Mail 1st Class Post. Delivery is normally 2-3 working days from the order date. There is a £1.99 charge that covers the packing of the product.
If you need a quicker service, select the Special Delivery option at checkout and order before 2pm for delivery the next working day before 1pm. Please note that this service requires a signature on arrival. Royal Mail do not offer the Special Delivery service for delivery on Saturday or Sunday, so orders placed on a Thursday will be delivered the following Monday. This service costs £7.00.
We regret that we cannot deliver on Sundays and Bank Holidays and we cannot deliver internationally.
If you need your Theatre Tokens quickly or you want to send them to someone who is not in the UK, we suggest choosing our eGift option so the Theatre Tokens can be emailed directly to your recipient almost immediately.

Tokenline will be closed on Friday 30 March and Monday 2 April. Any orders placed after 2pm on 30 March will be dispatched on 2 April. We suggest choosing our eGift option so the Theatre Tokens can be emailed directly to your recipient almost immediately.
DOES IT MATTER IF THE THEATRE TICKETS COST MORE OR LESS THAN MY THEATRE TOKENS?
No. If the tickets cost less than your Theatre Tokens Gift Card or eGift the remaining balance will be available to use next time. If you are redeeming a paper Theatre Token and require change you will be given a new plastic Gift Card with your change value. If the tickets cost more than your Theatre Tokens, you can make the additional payment using cash, cheque or credit/debit card.
CAN I USE THEATRE TOKENS TO BUY THEATRE TICKETS AT THE TKTS BOOTH?
Yes, Theatre Tokens are sold and redeemed at the TKTS ticket booth in Leicester Square.
DO YOU ACCEPT ORDERS FROM OVERSEAS?
We are unable to accept orders or dispatch Theatre Tokens outside of the UK, but overseas customers can purchase our official Tokens from our friends at First Bookshop via their website, by phone on 0800 6125350 or in person in Londonderry, Northern Ireland (Token House Partnership, Casni, 43 John Street, Cityside, Derry, BT48 6JY).
WHAT DO I DO IF I WANT TO SWAP MY VIRGIN VOUCHER, LEISURE, SODEXO SAYSHOPPING AND COMPLIMENTS VOUCHER FOR THEATRE TOKENS?
All you need to do to exchange any of the above vouchers for Theatre Tokens is post them (we advise using a secure delivery method) with a covering letter or note explaining that you'd like to swap your vouchers for Theatre Tokens to:

Provided they have not expired and are not damaged we will exchange them for the equivalent value in Theatre Tokens for you to use at any of our participating theatres. The Theatre Tokens will be sent to your email address in the form of an eGift.
Please supply your full name, email address, postcode and a contact telephone number to us when you send your vouchers in so that we know where to send your Theatre Tokens eGift to and in case of any queries. If you are sending in a Virgin Voucher please make sure the reverse of the Virgin Voucher has your name and signature on the back. Please note only ‘The Virgin Voucher’, ‘Leisure’, ‘Sodexo SayShopping’ and ‘Compliments Voucher’ (previously Capital Bond) can be exchanged for Theatre Tokens and are subject to each voucher provider's terms and conditions.
Voucher exchanging cannot be processed in conjunction with any other Theatre Tokens offer.
WHAT DO I DO IF I WANT TO SWAP MY POST OFFICE ONE4ALL VOUCHERS FOR THEATRE TOKENS?
One4All vouchers can now be redeemed online. Simply follow the instructions below:
- Use your own name and address as the billing address of the card.
- In payment options at the checkout, select ‘Mastercard/Visa'.
- Use the Valid Thru date on the front of the card in the Expiry Date box.
- Find the CVV2 number behind the silver panel on the back of the card.
CAN I GET A REFUND ON MY THEATRE TOKENS?
Any request for a refund must be made directly by the purchaser (and not the recipient) of the Theatre Tokens to the relevant issuing retailer of the Theatre Tokens. If you have purchased your Theatre Tokens directly from Society of London Theatre, you have the right to cancel this order and receive a refund, provided that the Theatre Tokens have not been redeemed and you do so in writing to us by completing a cancellation form within 14 days of receipt of your order. WHO IS SOCIETY OF LONDON THEATRE?
Society of London Theatre (SOLT) is the not-for-profit organisation which provides a collective voice for the theatre owners, producers and managers of all the major commercial and grant-aided theatres across London. As well as protecting the interests of all its member theatres, SOLT promotes theatregoing through activities including the Olivier Awards with MasterCard, the TKTS ticket booth, the Official London Theatre website and its printed fortnightly listings guide, Theatre Tokens and the popular annual celebration West End LIVE. It also administers the audience development initiatives Kids Week and London Theatre's New Year Sale, and supports a number of theatrical charities including Stage One and Mousetrap Theatre Projects.
