The Essential Companion Register allows customers who require essential assistance in order to visit the Lichfield Garrick to bring this companion free of charge. They endeavour to offer this on all shows but there may be some exceptions. You can register by filling out the application form and returning this to the box office, along with proof of eligibility. Please make sure you have downloaded and read the supporting information. For customers who choose not to register for a free Essential Companion, half price carer tickets are available on most professional shows.

There are up to six spaces for wheelchairs in the main auditorium at the rear of the Stalls and two wheelchairs in our studio. Companion seats are held alongside these. Wheelchair access is available at the Garrick at both entrances to the theatre, these being either the Green Room entrance on Castle Dyke, or the Box Office entrance on Wade Street. All levels including Stalls and Circle are accessible by lift.

They operate a hearing loop in both the Main Auditorium and Studio.

They occasionally offer BSL interpreted performances and hope to offer more of these in the future. They are also looking at offering Captioned performances.

Lichfield Garrick is a purpose-built theatre in Lichfield, Staffordshire. The theatre presents its own productions as well as touring shows. It forms a part of the local theatre community and is used by amateur companies for musicals and plays. It has been open since 2003 and has two creative spaces: the main auditorium which seats 562 people and the Studio which seats 157 people.

The current theatre was used to replace the old Arts Centre and Civic Hall, which was the main theatre venue until then. The £5.5 million project was completed in 2003. The architect Alan Short designed the building to include modern theatrical features such as a fly tower, and a natural ventilation system which is an award-winning architectural highlight.

Lichfield Garrick plays an important part in the local creative community, running programmes such as The Garrick Community Choir, The Garrick Youth Theatre and The Morning Chorus. The theatre operates separate to the local council, as a charitable trust.

The first production held at the Lichfield Garrick was The Recruiting Officer, which was directed by Corin Redgrave. Since then the theatre has been home to many successful productions such as Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? starring Matthew Kelly and Tracey Childs. The theatre presents a broad programme, including an annual Christmas pantomime.
