Whatever the amount of the donation you make to support Theatre Royal, it is support that we didn’t have until you gave it. Be it £1 or £10,000, we offer a very warm thank you. You will be embedded in the rich and varied tapestry that is the history of Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.
Theatre Royal is the only surviving Regency playhouse in the country, it is a registered charity. For over 200 years Theatre Royal has brought joy to West Suffolk by bringing the best live theatre to our stage and significant income in to our economy. We believe in the transformative power of the performing arts – we aim to inspire young people, to give local people a voice, to reach out to those most marginalised groups for whom theatre and the arts may otherwise be inaccessible. To deliver all of this we support and nurture a brilliant ecology of freelance artists. We offer a programme of theatre productions made in Bury St Edmunds, including our own produced pantomime alongside a wide range of drama, music and dance from visiting companies. Our diverse programme reaches an average annual audience of 85,000.
