Grazyna Bacewicz was a remarkable Polish composer and violinist, who defied all expectations of women in her time. During World War II she even gave secret underground concerts in Warsaw to continue premiering her work. Her Sinfonietta lets the string section of the orchestra shine, using different techniques and textures to great effect.
