Billy Elliot the Musical is one of the most celebrated British musicals of all time, seen by almost 12 million people across five continents and the winner of more than 80 major awards worldwide.
Set in a northern mining town against the backdrop of the 1984–85 miners’ strike, the story follows young Billy as he swaps boxing gloves for ballet shoes. What begins as a secret passion soon becomes a life-changing journey – challenging expectations, bringing a fractured family together, and inspiring an entire community.
Based on the Academy Award-nominated film, the stage production features a powerful score by Elton John and is brought to life by the original award-winning creative team, including writer Lee Hall, director Stephen Daldry and choreographer Peter Darling.
