How did bookish and reclusive James Bennet end up with the ridiculous, but ambitious and pragmatic, Mrs Bennet? This cleverly layered comedy looks back and explores the vexing question of how the ill-suited parents of Elizabeth Bennet, portrayed with such humour in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, came to be married to each other in the first place. Producer and director, Claire Evans, is delighted to be back at the OSO following her five-star production, Bobby and Amy, last year. Written by Australian writer Emma Wood, this production is a world première.
