The Oresteia: Libation Bearers and Eumenides
From:29-01-2026
To:30-01-2026
+ More Info +

Warwick Classics Society presents Aeschylus’ Oresteia (Libation Bearers and Eumenides), a stand-alone play continuing from 2025’s spectacular Agamemnon.
Orestes is told by Apollo there is only one way to avenge his father’s murder- to kill his mother in turn. If he doesn’t, he will be haunted by his father’s enraged spirits. Conflict abounds, and the decision reached leaves the royal house of Argos collapsing. Furies and gods flood the stage, as these plays extend from a family affair to one of cosmic importance. Clear-cut lines between living and dead, human and god, Olympian and chthonic dissolve as the play and its protagonist descends into madness.
Whether you’re familiar with Greek theatre and myth, or have no prior knowledge, The Oresteia will be an electrifying play that shows the boldness and experimental imagination of Greek dramatist Aeschylus.
Ticket prices are subsidised courtesy of the Department of Classics and Ancient History.

Handle with Care is theatre stripped down to its essence. No actors, no technicians. Just a box. And you.

A box is mailed to the theatre.

The instructions are clear:

Invite a group of people, on a specific night, at a specific time.

Let the audience take their seats.

Place the box at the centre of the stage.

The audience is waiting.

And then an audience member stands up and opens the box.

The show has started.

In Handle with Care, Ontroerend Goed puts you in control. We provide the structure; you shape the experience. Choose your role—take the lead or observe as others make choices that steer the performance in unexpected directions. Together, you create something special: a shared experience filled with reflections on time, transience, and togetherness. And don’t worry—there are no wrong choices in Handle with Care. You’ve got this. For one hour, you’ll live something unique, fleeting, and unrepeatable. Here. Now. Together. No one is watching. What is yours, stays yours. Take good care of it. Nine Sixteenths by Paula Varjack
From:12-02-2026
To:12-02-2026
+ More Info +

In 2004, in the SuperBowl halftime show finale, 23 year old Justin Timberlake ripped off 37 year old Janet Jackson’s top. Her breast was exposed on screen for nine sixteenths of a second.

A pop icon and role model for many black women, and an outspoken ally for the LGBTQ community, the moment derailed Jackson’s career for many years, while Timberlake’s thrived.

But who was invested in the backlash? What does all this have to say about the demographics of who controls the media, and the ways in which black women are scrutinised in the public eye?

From THE MALFUNCTION to THE AFTERMATH and a celebration of RECLAMATION, Nine Sixteenths invites you on a journey through three acts, exploring themes of representation and pop culture with a nostalgia for the early 00’s, along with the hopes and dreams of four black female performers, all through a visual variety of devised theatre, dance and lip sync.

Nine Sixteenths joins theatre maker Paula Varjack with choreographer/maker Pauline Mayers, actress/director Endy McKay and choreographer Julienne Doko, for a cultural odyssey, to work out what happened and what is happening still…

There comes a day when you look around and wonder “is the world a raging bin fire, or is it perimenopause?” The answer, my friend, is “yes”.
Authentic, curious, and gleefully irascible, storyteller and comedian Desiree Burch leads a madcap voyage through the Middle Ages - AKA the mid-life crisis, and its mandatory metamorphosis – in her new stand-up show.

Desiree brings both childlike wonder and crone-like wit to the experiences of losing sleep, relevance, knee cartilage, oestrogen, youth, and illusions in a laugh-packed show that celebrates the fury and freedom found when you’ve accepted that time has ruined your plans, but roll up your sleeves to fight it anyway.

Desiree Burch is an American comedian who has appeared across the UK’s biggest comedy shows, including Taskmaster, The Mash Report, Live At The Apollo, Travelman, The Last Leg, QI, and more. She’s also the wisecracking narrator of Netflix's iconic guilty pleasure Too Hot to Handle.

Horror author Nick Steen is having visions… A sinister Black Steeple; eerie lights in the sky that look like a Catherine wheel but are not remotely a Catherine wheel… Plus a giant skeleton with a moustache. Are they omens? Auguries? Portenderings of things to come? (Spoiler - yes, they are).
For Nick Steen’s imagination is bursting out of his brain and threatening to burst in turn the entirety of Stalkford.

Can Nick stop the aforesaid bursting? Or have things already slightly burst regardless? (That, btw, will ultimately be Garth’s decision.)

TWAWSI - The World As We See It...
From:11-03-2026
To:11-03-2026
+ More Info +

Redefining dance from the African Diaspora, ACE dance and music’s new double bill presents two powerful contrasting visions of our world today.

1. ECHOES OF DUST – choreographed by Serge Aimé Coulibaly, with creative contributions by Sigué Sayouba

When the world trembles, what remains of our humanity? When all seems lost, what hope can we still hold on to?

In a world torn apart by war, disaster and the invisible collapse of human connection; seven individuals find themselves stranded in the heart of chaos. Confronting the remnants of a shattered world, stripped of certainty and memory they stumble, fight, and protest; with each encounter, a voice is reclaimed.

2. LETLALO – choreographed by Vincent Mantsoe

Letlalo, meaning "Skin" in Mantsoe’s native tongue ‘Sotho’, draws from African, Indigenous, and contemporary dance languages to explore the deep connection between humanity and the earth.
#
Rooted in ancestral wisdom and inspired by nomadic cultures, the performance reflects on the quiet strength of communities living in harmony. It examines the layers beneath the surface, exploring the true essence of the human spirit, while evoking themes of power, unity, serenity, and interconnectedness.

You've seen her cuddling orangutans, being "Wide Awake" on Saturday mornings and almost skating to glory on Dancing on Ice. Now, wildlife TV legend Michaela Strachan swaps the binoculars for the spotlight in her brand-new live theatre show Not Just A Wild Life.

Haircut 100
From:02-05-2026
To:02-05-2026
+ More Info +

An unexpected second chapter in the Haircut One Hundred story gathered pace last year when their irresistible first single in forever, The Unloving Plum, became Radio 2’s Record of the Week.
It was a track which showed the magic that inspired their classic ‘80s hits - Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), Love Plus One, Fantastic Day and Nobody’s Fool.

Now that comeback steps up a gear as they announce that their new album Boxing The Compass will be released on 20 March 2026. They launched the album alongside the new single Dynamite, which was premiered by Scott Mills on Radio 2 and now embark on a new UK tour.

Boxing The Compass will be just the second album from the classic line-up since 1982’s hit-packed, Platinum-certified #2 record Pelican West (another album minus Nick Heywood, Paint and Paint, followed in 1984). Nick Heyward (vocals/guitar), Graham Jones (guitar) and Les Nemes (bass) had reconvened to discuss issues around the band, but that business meeting felt more like a reunion of old friends. Things soon snowballed from an unforgettable comeback gig at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire to a full UK headline tour, with drummer Blair Cunningham also subsequently jumping back onboard.

Subsequent writing and recording sessions with Sean Read (Dexys) at Famous Times studio in East London showed that they still shared that special something. Their flair for a classic, melody rich pop song was firmly intact alongside with a host of fresh influences that they had never had the chance to explore together. And despite the passing of four decades, their boyish charm is still luminous - surely because each member is grateful for having a second chance with their old friends.

Max Cooper Live
From:15-05-2026
To:15-05-2026
+ More Info +

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art.

He holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events. Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all.

"I've always had a strong emotive bond with aesthetics, and found at an early age that the purified forms of electronic music carried a lot of weight for me, as did the reductive natural aesthetics of the sciences. That felt connection to both opened up a world I've been lost in ever since."

Pivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious:"In both fields, you're in a sense, free. Free from the limits of living systems, free from the limits of corporeal sound. The only constraints are in your mind."

Max Cooper has collaborated with Zaha Hadid Architects, Dolby, L-Acoustics, 4DSOUND, Barbican Centre, W1 Curates, The Babraham Institute and exhibited work at museums including the Pompidou Metz, ZKM Karlsruhe, Museum Wave Seoul and The Science Museum London.

We are proud to be presenting Max Cooper with support from Deliaphonic - an annual celebration of the life and work of Coventry-born electronic music pioneer and composer Delia Derbyshire.

Music of the Mystics - Sufi Qawwali Night with Fanna-Fi-Allah
From:09-06-2026
To:09-06-2026
+ More Info +

In an era where many groups blend qawwali with pop arrangements, guitars, or electronic beats, Fanna-Fi-Allah remain committed to the authentic doāba qawwali tradition - slow, expansive, devotional, and unbroken in its form.

Qawwali is the devotional music of the Sufi saints - a tapestry of soaring voices, harmonium, tabla, and clapping that together awaken the heart and invite us into remembrance. The poetry, drawn from great mystics such as Amir Khusrau, Bulleh Shah, and Baba Farid, speaks of longing, surrender, and divine love.

What makes Fanna-Fi-Allah unique is not only their fidelity to tradition but also their diverse makeup: a rare ensemble where Pakistani, Indian, and international musicians come together, creating a living bridge of cultures united in devotion. Over more than 25 years, they have performed in hundreds of Sufi shrines across India and Pakistan as well as at major concert halls and festivals in over 50 countries.

The ensemble is led by Tahir Qawwal, a student of the lineages of Faisalabad and Lahore, who studied under great masters including Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Ustad Bakshi Salamat. Tahir is also the founder of the Samā School of Music, the first international classical qawwali school, and the producer of the acclaimed film series Qawwali - Music of the Mystics.

At a Fanna-Fi-Allah performance, the air is alive with rhythm and poetry - a gathering where the spirit of centuries-old Sufi devotion is carried faithfully into the present. Audiences often find themselves moved to stillness, to tears, or to ecstatic dance, joined in a shared circle of devotion and humanity.

We warmly welcome you to join this gathering, not simply as a concert, but as an authentic living tradition carried forward with humility, discipline, and love.

British country act Ward Thomas have announced a major UK tour for 2026 in celebration of their landmark album Cartwheels.

Taking place throughout September next year - and including a special date at the iconic London Palladium - the tour will see twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas perform the album in its entirety backed by full band, revisiting the record that made history as the first ever by a British country act to reach No.1 on the UK Albums Chart.

Released in 2016, Cartwheels was the Hampshire duo’s second album and the record that propelled them from emerging singer-songwriters to trailblazers of a new British country-pop sound.

Written between home and Nashville, the album showcased their sharp lyrical storytelling and effortless harmonies, with standout singles including Carry You Home, Guilty Flowers and the title track Cartwheels. The Guardian hailed the record as “a slick slice of country pop”.

Reflecting on the milestone, Lizzy Ward Thomas said: “We can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the release of our album Cartwheels. This album went to number 1 in the UK charts!! So we had to plan a celebration for its 10-year anniversary! We’ll be coming on tour playing some really incredible venues, bringing our full band, doing a type of show we haven’t done in a long time!”

The Cartwheels 10th Anniversary Tour will bring the sisters' trademark harmonies and heartfelt songwriting back to stages across the UK, celebrating a decade since the release of the album that helped open doorsfor the UK country scene.

Susan Calman hasn’t been on tour in ten years, but now she’s back with a brand-new show.

A decade older, but not necessarily wiser, Susan has found herself in some improbable situations over the years. Tall Tales is a show about cruising, driving tanks, cats and getting older. You might have seen her on the television or heard her on the radio but the absolute best way to see her is live on stage. You won’t believe how short she really is.

Prepare yourself for an evening of barely believable stories, laughter and probably some dancing.

As seen on Grand Day Out, Cruising with Susan Calman, QI, House of Games and (a long time ago) Strictly Come Dancing.

10cc's Graham Gouldman & Heart Full of Songs
From:18-10-2026
To:18-10-2026
+ More Info +

When 10cc co-founder Graham Gouldman formed what became Heart Full of Songs more than a decade ago, it was purely for the pleasure of laying the songs he wrote or co-wrote in their simplest form, acoustically.

It started as a three-piece supporting at 10cc concerts and quickly evolved into a stand-alone entity. These days, Heart Full of Songs is a semi-acoustic/electric, four-piece with its next UK tour set for October 2026.

Featuring material from across Graham’s catalogue, the set includes such classics as 10cc’s I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday; Bus Stop and Look Through Any Window, which were hits for The Hollies; For Your Love and Heart Full of Soul (the Yardbirds); No Milk Today (Herman’s Hermits); Bridge To Your Heart from his time with the late Andrew Gold as Wax, along with songs from film soundtracks and his solo albums.

Acknowledgement of Graham’s achievements has been growing more widely too, with him awarded an MBE in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours list, for services to music.

Also underpinning his position as one of the world’s leading songwriters were the guest contributors on his latest album, I have Notes. They include Ringo Starr, Brian May, Hank Marvin and Albert Lee.
