Michaela Strachan: Not Just a Wild Life
From:26-04-2026
To:26-04-2026
+ More Info +

You've seen her cuddling orangutans, being "Wide Awake" on Saturday mornings and almost skating to glory on Dancing on Ice. Now, wildlife TV legend Michaela Strachan swaps the binoculars for the spotlight in her brand-new live theatre show Not Just A Wild Life.
Marking 40 years in the public eye - on our screens, in the wild and sometimes out of her depth. From The Wide Awake Club, The Hitman And Her and The Really Wild Show to Countryfile, Springwatch and beyond, the show laughs at the chaos of TV, celebrates the beauty of nature and reflects on what it means to grow up - and grow older - on screen.

It's a high energy, funny and heart-warming journey through four decades of conservation and re-invention. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be upstaged by an elephant, wrangle the likes of Chris Packham, or ice skate on National TV looking like Julie Andrews, then this show is for you! Not Just A Wild Life promises an evening of inspiration, nostalgia and genuine connection - for nature nerds, nostalgia lovers, and anyone who’s ever wondered how a rubber chicken can change the course of your life.

Haircut 100
From:02-05-2026
To:02-05-2026
+ More Info +

An unexpected second chapter in the Haircut One Hundred story gathered pace last year when their irresistible first single in forever, The Unloving Plum, became Radio 2’s Record of the Week.
It was a track which showed the magic that inspired their classic ‘80s hits - Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), Love Plus One, Fantastic Day and Nobody’s Fool.

Now that comeback steps up a gear as they announce that their new album Boxing The Compass will be released on 20 March 2026. They launched the album alongside the new single Dynamite, which was premiered by Scott Mills on Radio 2 and now embark on a new UK tour.

Boxing The Compass will be just the second album from the classic line-up since 1982’s hit-packed, Platinum-certified #2 record Pelican West (another album minus Nick Heywood, Paint and Paint, followed in 1984). Nick Heyward (vocals/guitar), Graham Jones (guitar) and Les Nemes (bass) had reconvened to discuss issues around the band, but that business meeting felt more like a reunion of old friends. Things soon snowballed from an unforgettable comeback gig at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire to a full UK headline tour, with drummer Blair Cunningham also subsequently jumping back onboard.

Subsequent writing and recording sessions with Sean Read (Dexys) at Famous Times studio in East London showed that they still shared that special something. Their flair for a classic, melody rich pop song was firmly intact alongside with a host of fresh influences that they had never had the chance to explore together. And despite the passing of four decades, their boyish charm is still luminous - surely because each member is grateful for having a second chance with their old friends.

Max Cooper Live
From:15-05-2026
To:15-05-2026
+ More Info +

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art.

He holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events. Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all.

"I've always had a strong emotive bond with aesthetics, and found at an early age that the purified forms of electronic music carried a lot of weight for me, as did the reductive natural aesthetics of the sciences. That felt connection to both opened up a world I've been lost in ever since."

Pivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious:"In both fields, you're in a sense, free. Free from the limits of living systems, free from the limits of corporeal sound. The only constraints are in your mind."

Max Cooper has collaborated with Zaha Hadid Architects, Dolby, L-Acoustics, 4DSOUND, Barbican Centre, W1 Curates, The Babraham Institute and exhibited work at museums including the Pompidou Metz, ZKM Karlsruhe, Museum Wave Seoul and The Science Museum London.

We are proud to be presenting Max Cooper with support from Deliaphonic - an annual celebration of the life and work of Coventry-born electronic music pioneer and composer Delia Derbyshire.

Music of the Mystics - Sufi Qawwali Night with Fanna-Fi-Allah
From:09-06-2026
To:09-06-2026
+ More Info +

In an era where many groups blend qawwali with pop arrangements, guitars, or electronic beats, Fanna-Fi-Allah remain committed to the authentic doāba qawwali tradition - slow, expansive, devotional, and unbroken in its form.

Qawwali is the devotional music of the Sufi saints - a tapestry of soaring voices, harmonium, tabla, and clapping that together awaken the heart and invite us into remembrance. The poetry, drawn from great mystics such as Amir Khusrau, Bulleh Shah, and Baba Farid, speaks of longing, surrender, and divine love.

What makes Fanna-Fi-Allah unique is not only their fidelity to tradition but also their diverse makeup: a rare ensemble where Pakistani, Indian, and international musicians come together, creating a living bridge of cultures united in devotion. Over more than 25 years, they have performed in hundreds of Sufi shrines across India and Pakistan as well as at major concert halls and festivals in over 50 countries.

The ensemble is led by Tahir Qawwal, a student of the lineages of Faisalabad and Lahore, who studied under great masters including Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Ustad Bakshi Salamat. Tahir is also the founder of the Samā School of Music, the first international classical qawwali school, and the producer of the acclaimed film series Qawwali - Music of the Mystics.

At a Fanna-Fi-Allah performance, the air is alive with rhythm and poetry - a gathering where the spirit of centuries-old Sufi devotion is carried faithfully into the present. Audiences often find themselves moved to stillness, to tears, or to ecstatic dance, joined in a shared circle of devotion and humanity.

We warmly welcome you to join this gathering, not simply as a concert, but as an authentic living tradition carried forward with humility, discipline, and love.

Keith Brymer Jones and Marj Hogarth: Us, Pots and A Welsh Chapel
From:12-06-2026
To:12-06-2026
+ More Info +

Beloved Great Pottery Throw Down judge and ceramic designer Keith Brymer Jones returns to the stage with a brand-new show. Join Keith alongside his partner in life and crime, actor and designer Marj Hogarth, as they share stories of clay, craft, and their most ambitious project yet… bringing a building back to life.

Fresh from filming the third series of Channel 4's Our Welsh Chapel Dream, Keith and Marj invite you behind the scenes of their creative partnership based on the restoration of Capel Salem, a Grade II listed 19th-century chapel in North Wales.

Together, they'll reveal the highs, lows, and surprises they've uncovered whilst breathing new life into historic stone—from navigating Welsh planning regulations to discovering what resilience really means when the roof leaks and the budget doesn't stretch. But this isn't just about saving a building. It's about restoring a community hub, creating a space where local potters can train as apprentices, and weaving Capel Salem back into the fabric of village life.

Watch Keith work his magic at the pottery wheel with live demonstrations. Hear Marj share her passion for making something beautiful from nothing, and why she's spent decades quietly championing sustainable craft long before it became fashionable.

This is an evening about more than restoration. It's about what we make, why we make it, and who we become in the making. Expect laughter, pottery, partnership, and the kind of warmth that only comes from two people who've learned to create a life together, one handmade piece at a time.

Hailing from the Isle of Skye, the legendary Scottish trailblazers have created a glorious mixture of traditional sounds and dance-floor grooves that have been embraced worldwide.

Drawing upon a dazzling myriad of influences from jigs and reels through Dance Music, Jazz, African, and more, they bring the sound of Scotland fresh-faced and breathless to the new audiences around the world. Their mainly instrumental music allows the band to develop exciting themes and soundscapes, as well as locking into their trademark hypnotic sound that no-one can resist dancing to!

From the moment they take to the stage, the mood is a no-nonsense feel-good atmosphere – each number sounding like an encore in itself. They tease unlikely combinations from familiar instruments such as fiddle and highland pipes – blending with techno rhythms and soaring sounds to take this to another plain. The traditional styles that influence the musicians are still to be heard – and when an unexpected drop-down to those glorious core melodies sneaks in – the result is spine-chilling! In short, it rocks and the audience becomes part of the experience.

The band is made up of Peter Morrison on pipes and whistles, Ross Couper on fiddle, Innes Watson on acoustic guitar, fiddle and vocals, Tom Salter on guitar, Norman Willmore on keyboards and sax, Innes Hutton on bass and Stuart Brown on drums.

Fanfare Ciocarlia – 30 years of Brass on Fire
From:04-10-2026
To:04-10-2026
+ More Info +

Nobody does it better, harder, faster, or funkier than Fanfare Ciocarlia.

Fanfare Ciocarlia is widely recognised as the world's fastest and most energetic brass band, renowned for their breakneck speeds (often 130–200 BPM). Having learnt their craft at the feet of their fathers and grandfathers, they proudly approach every concert as a challenge to keep the true spirit of gypsy music alive.

When the brass orchestra from the “hidden” village of Zece Prajini in north-eastern Romania takes the stage, the crowd receives 100% gypsy music. Because of their village's isolation, the ancient Ottoman tradition of brass bands continued to exist here under communism when it had long died out elsewhere. When a young German music fan wandered into the village in 1996, he found a living tradition that he knew the world would embrace.

And so they did: Fanfare Ciocarlia conquered Europe in 1997, their furious live blast appealing to punks, jazz fans, world music aficionados, and even the classical world. Everyone who heard them agreed: no brass band had ever played as fast or sounded like this before. The Times of London described it as “a heavy, heavy monster sound.”

Along the way, they have been championed in all kinds of media: they star in several films, own the cover of Princes Amongst Men, and were commissioned by Sacha Baron Cohen for the Borat soundtracks. Their radical reinterpretations of Western standards show how they effortlessly “gypsify” any music they get their horns on.

Besides making great music, they have developed brilliant musical theatre, released twelve albums, and played over 4,000 concerts. They like to consider themselves “the hardest working band in the blow biz.”

Jeremy Bowen: Truth Under Fire
From:05-10-2026
To:05-10-2026
+ More Info +

Gaza. Ukraine. Syria. Sudan. Yemen. The world is facing more armed conflicts than at any point in decades, and Jeremy Bowen has reported from the centre of nearly all of them.

As the BBC's International Editor, Jeremy has spent over 40 years covering more than 90 countries and 20 wars. From El Salvador in 1989 to the frontlines today, he has interviewed world leaders, documented war crimes, been shot at, and survived to tell the stories.

But something has changed. Israel prevents foreign journalists from entering Gaza. Russia controls the narrative in occupied Ukraine. Governments from Syria to Sudan restrict access, manipulate information, and discredit reporters who contradict official accounts. In the age of social media, competing claims flood our screens, but who is telling the truth? And how do we know?

Jeremy has spent his career fighting for access, verifying what others want hidden, and bearing witness when governments would rather the world look away. He will explain how the battle for truth is being waged, why press freedom is collapsing in conflict zones, and what it means when the first casualty of war is not just truth, but those trying to report it.

In the second half, audiences will have the chance to put their questions to a journalist who has made it his life's work to get as close to the truth as possible - even when that truth is dangerous, disputed, or under fire.

An essential evening for anyone who wants to understand the world as it is, not as we wish it to be.

From:06-10-2026
To:06-10-2026

With fewer than 650 people having reached Earth's orbit, nobody is more qualified than Tim Peake to celebrate the historic achievements and human endeavours of space exploration.

Up until now, Tim has brought his own incredible journey to life through unparalleled storytelling and extraordinary archive footage. In this new show, Tim will share the remarkable stories of some of his fellow astronauts and explore the spectacular evolution of space travel.

From the first forays into space in the 1950s, to the first human missions destined for Mars, Tim will traverse the final frontier. As he recounts the awe-inspiring endeavours of astronauts across the ages, Tim will reveal what spaceflight is truly like: from the wondrous view of Earth, living in weightlessness, the unique dangers and unexpected moments of humour, to the years of training and psychological and physical pressures that an astronaut has to take on.

“Space has the capacity to inspire and fascinate people of all ages. It's an honour to be able to share these unique experiences, which have forever changed how we look at the universe" - Tim Peake.

African Soul Rebels featuring Les Amazones d’Afrique, Gasper Nali + support
From:06-10-2026
To:06-10-2026
+ More Info +

African Soul Rebels, Music Beyond Mainstream’s trailblazing live series, is reborn for a new era - celebrating fearless artists who reshape tradition, challenge borders, and put rhythm at the centre of resistance and joy.

Leading the charge are the electrifying Les Amazones d’Afrique - the powerhouse collective of West African artists whose music fuses ancient roots with urgent, future-facing sounds and a message of strength, unity and change.

From Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage to President Obama’s playlist the voices of Les Amazones d’Afrique are being heard worldwide. Female warriordom has never sounded so fierce - or so danceable.

Joining them is the phenomenal Gasper Nali, a not-so-traditional babatoni player from the shores of Lake Malawi. With his 3-metre-long, one-stringed homemade bass guitar, a stick and an empty beer bottle, plus a cow-skin kick drum and collaborators on percussion and guitar, he creates impossibly danceable Afro beats with playful, joyful hooks.

Opening the night: a handpicked rising artist curated by BBC Introducing, spotlighting the next voice pushing boundaries and connecting cultures.

This isn’t just a gig.

It’s a revival of a movement.

A celebration of African creativity, resistance and innovation - past, present and future.

This event is part of Music Beyond Mainstream (MBM), a network of large scale UK venues collaborating to present exceptional diverse artists and distinctive musical voices beyond the mainstream touring circuit.

Enter The Castle with Jon Ronson
From:08-10-2026

After three decades investigating the strange edges of human behaviour—from public shamings, psychopaths, to modern moral panics—Jon Ronson’s latest true story turns unexpectedly close to home.

When his son is lured to a mysterious castle deep in the forests of New England, Jon finds himself on a darkly comic, perilous quest to uncover what was really happening inside its walls. The Castle, Jon’s first book in 11 years, is his most personal, revealing and gripping journey yet—a twisting tale of unmoored men, lost purpose and the absurd, frightening ways it can all go wrong. Does a world of disinhibition, where seemingly anything goes, lie ahead of us?

In this brand-new live show, Jon brings the book’s extraordinary stories to life on stage with astonishing footage and online clips, including jaw-dropping material that has long since vanished from the internet. Ruby Turner
From:17-10-2026
To:17-10-2026
+ More Info +

Ruby Turner's career to date has always had many unexpected twists and turns, and with major tours, theatre and TV appearances, and touring with Jools Holland, the future continues to look positive.

Ruby Turner was born in Jamaica and grew up in Montego Bay. Her Grandfather sang the lead in one of the Island's Gospel Groups. Moving to England when she was nine, Ruby has lived here ever since.

Her major break came in the mid 1980s, when she was asked to join Culture Club at the height of their stardom. Ruby very quickly learned how to deal with the routine of gruelling tour schedules, living out of a suitcase and performing to vast sell-out audiences.

An offer of a solo record deal closely followed and she soon signed to Jive Records, part of the Zomba Group. Four albums and a "Best of" Compilation Album were all released to critical acclaim over the next few years making Ruby a household name. This period went on to spawn the hits I'd Rather Go Blind, If You're Ready (Come Go With Me) and in the American R'n'B chart, the Number 1 hit single It's Gonna Be Alright - one of less than ten British records to achieve this! It was at this time that she also released her hit album The Motown Songbook on which she performed with some of the truly great stars of that era - The Four Tops, The Temptations, Jimmy Ruffin etc.

On 4 June 2012, Ruby performed You Are So Beautiful with Jools Holland at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace in London. In Autumn 2012, Ruby was a guest judge on BBC The Choir: Sing While You Work with Choirmaster Gareth Malone and in 2013 Ruby was a guest judge on BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choirs Competition. In June 2016, Ruby was awarded an MBE.

To date, Ruby has released 17 albums plus the BBC's Live From Glastonbury, as well as appearing on releases by the likes of Brian Ferry, UB40, Steve Winwood and Mick Jagger. She is also one of the main singers in Jools Holland's R&B Orchestra, and features on many tracks on his albums.

10cc's Graham Gouldman & Heart Full of Songs
From:18-10-2026
To:18-10-2026
+ More Info +

When 10cc co-founder Graham Gouldman formed what became Heart Full of Songs more than a decade ago, it was purely for the pleasure of laying the songs he wrote or co-wrote in their simplest form, acoustically.

It started as a three-piece supporting at 10cc concerts and quickly evolved into a stand-alone entity. These days, Heart Full of Songs is a semi-acoustic/electric, four-piece with its next UK tour set for October 2026.

Featuring material from across Graham’s catalogue, the set includes such classics as 10cc’s I’m Not In Love and Dreadlock Holiday; Bus Stop and Look Through Any Window, which were hits for The Hollies; For Your Love and Heart Full of Soul (the Yardbirds); No Milk Today (Herman’s Hermits); Bridge To Your Heart from his time with the late Andrew Gold as Wax, along with songs from film soundtracks and his solo albums.

Acknowledgement of Graham’s achievements has been growing more widely too, with him awarded an MBE in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours list, for services to music.

Also underpinning his position as one of the world’s leading songwriters were the guest contributors on his latest album, I have Notes. They include Ringo Starr, Brian May, Hank Marvin and Albert Lee.

"There are powers that bind the world together, softer than spirits yet stronger than stone, that tie the river to the tree, the tree to rain clouds, rain clouds to the land, and people to each other."
By Inua Ellams"

Directed by Ola Ince

The award-winning Once Upon a Time in Sokoto tells the epic story of a beautiful but unlikely friendship forged between a slave and her former master. Differences in faith, culture and heritage are overcome in the face of new enemies, in a gripping family drama set against the backdrop of events leading to the creation of Nigeria.

Winner of the 2024 Alfred Fagon Award for Once Upon a Time in Sokoto, Nigeria-born Inua Ellams is an internationally celebrated poet, playwright, and artist. He has published four poetry collections and his plays include the hugely popular and critically acclaimed Barber Shop Chronicles (Fuel/National Theatre, UK and International tour) and the award-winning The 14th Tale (Fuel/UK tour) and his retelling of Three Sisters (National Theatre).

Once Upon a Time in Sokoto is presented in association with Touring Together - a new national programme, bringing bold stories which shine a fresh light on the world we live in today, to audiences across the country.

Touring Together is a China Plate and Fuel initiative in collaboration with Brighton Dome, Leeds Playhouse, Oxford Playhouse, Royal and Derngate, Northampton and Warwick Arts Centre, generously supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

The Amy Winehouse Band: Back To Black 20th Anniversary Tour
From:17-12-2026
To:17-12-2026
+ More Info +

A celebration of the iconic album performed live by Amy's original band.

The Amy Winehouse Band - Amy’s original band who were with her from the very start throughout her meteoric rise - have announced a major UK tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of her defining album, Back to Black.

Released in 2006, Back to Black became the album that transformed Amy Winehouse from a rising British talent into a global cultural force. It propelled her to unprecedented heights, culminating in five GRAMMY Award wins at the 2008 ceremony (Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best New Artist), making her the first British woman to win that many in one night. Performing with her that evening, as they had since her earliest gigs in London pubs, was her band.

Now, The Amy Winehouse Band continue to bring her catalogue to audiences around the world, keeping Amy’s musical legacy alive and giving new generations the chance to experience these modern classic songs performed live.

Led by Amy’s long time musical director and bass player Dale Davis, The Amy Winehouse Band features members who both toured and recorded with Amy throughout her career.

The 2026 anniversary tour will see the band perform Back to Black in full plus other Amy Winehouse classics.

On the upcoming Back to Black 20th anniversary tour, Dale says:

“I can’t believe that it’s the 20th anniversary of Back To Black this year. When I congratulated Amy on the success of this incredible album, she said to me, not with any arrogance: ‘I knew what I was doing’, and at that moment, I realised that she knew exactly what she had created. It’s still an honour, pleasure and privilege to be performing these songs, from this timeless classic.”

Professor David Olusoga: The Global History of the British Cup of Tea
From:28-02-2027
To:28-02-2027
+ More Info +

There is nothing more British than a cup of tea.

Tea is our national drink and our national obsession. Yet the history of tea is the ultimate global story. It links over 350 years of British history to the histories of China, India, the Caribbean, and the United States. It encompasses the Boston Tea Party, the Opium Wars, and the history of the British East India Company. It is a story that involves industrial espionage and a vast forgotten migration within India, and the creation in Britain of a whole new world of domestic traditions and even new consumer household goods.

In this brand-new talk for 2027, David Olusoga uses art and photography, history and humour to uncover the strange and unexpected history of our national drink, adding this subject to his previous ever-popular Missing History talks.

David has become a household name over the years, most recently interviewing President Barack Obama and reaching the finals of the BBC hit TV series Celebrity Traitors. David has been back on BBC 2 with his brand-new series of Empire, with a new series of A House Through Time scheduled for Spring 2026.

David is the author/co-author of eight books, including Black & British: A Forgotten History, awarded both the Longman-History Today Trustees Award and the PEN Hessell-Tiltman Prize.

A Q&A plus book signing will follow the presentation, offering a chance to meet one of the UK’s foremost public historians. Books will be available to purchase at the event.
