The Woodville is a multi-purpose venue located in Gravesend, Kent. It is based on the site of the Civic Centre but exists as an independent body. The theatre consists of an 810-seat main auditorium, a studio space directly below (which has a capacity of 150), and The Blake Art Gallery. There are also private function rooms, the Spotlights Café and a bar.

The venue was originally known as the Woodville Halls Theatre but was renamed to ‘The Woodville’ in 2013 on account of that being the way it is referred to by Gravesend residents. Originally just a theatre auditorium and a rehearsal space, in 2014 a large 7.1 Dolby cinema screen was installed. Named after the director Paul Greengrass, the screen shows recent films and showings of National Theatre performances.

This Woodville also plays a major part in the local community, providing a cultural home for dance schools and local amateur groups. The outside area to the building (called The Community Square) is a large space is used for community events, including outdoor concerts and plays.

The Woodville has a large programme of plays, kids’ shows, comedy and concerts. The venue is proud to present performances, events and exhibitions for the people of Gravesend and for wider visiting audiences.
