The Phoenix Theatre is a West End theatre, located on Charing Cross Road. The building was constructed on the site of a factory and designed by Sir Giles Scott, Bertie Crew and Cecil Massey. The combination of its neoclassical exterior and Italianate interior design gained the building a Grade II listed status as of 1973.

The venue opened in 1930 with the premiere of Noël Coward’s ‘Private Lives’. The playwright also performed in the play alongside acting legends Gertrude Lawrence, Adrienne Allen and Laurence Olivier. The theatre continued to maintain a strong relationship with Coward, and on 16th December 1969 this relationship was celebrated with a midnight show for his 70th birthday. This event occurred alongside the unveiling of the Noël Coward foyer bar, which was renamed in his honour.

The Phoenix Theatre has hosted numerous successful productions which have covered many genres, including its affiliation with well-received musicals, such as Into The Woods by Sondheim, Blood Brothers by Willy Russell, and the Broadway transfer Come From Away. The Phoenix Theatre is regarded as a top-quality theatre with a stellar reputation within the West End community. It welcomes large audiences through its doors each year, and hosts them in its 1,012 seat-auditorium.
