The People's Theatre is the leading non-professional theatre company in the North East of England, and one of the largest and oldest established in the country.
The People's stages multiple productions a year in their 400-seat Main Stage auditorium and in their flexible Studio Theatre.
The Foyer, bar, and performance spaces are all accessible for wheelchair and mobility restricted users.
As a genuine community theatre, the People's Theatre is able to give people from all walks of life the experience of participating in all aspects of theatre.
Every show they do is produced entirely by their members - on stage, backstage and front of house. The Theatre takes great pride in working to professional standards and many members have gone on work in the professional theatre.
