Florence Foster Jenkins is about to blow your mind…and possibly your eardrums.

Glorious! follows Florence’s journey as she prepares for her concerts, builds an unlikely friendship with her accompanist, Cosme, and defies her critics to follow her dreams.

Dubbed ‘the worst singer in the world,’ Glorious! is the true story of American socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, who was known for her flamboyant costumes, enigmatic performances, and decidedly off-key voice.

Starring Wendi Peters (Coronation Street) as Florence Foster Jenkins and Matthew James Morrison (EastEnders), as Cosme McMoon, in this 20th anniversary production, this hilarious production played to rave reviews at Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre and is the feel-good comedy we’ve been waiting for.

Glorious! wowed audiences in its original Olivier-nominated West End long-running production starring Maureen Lipman in 2005, before coming to the silver screen, starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant in the film version of the play that critics simply called “GLORIOUS!” The show has since been seen by millions of people around the world, translated into 25 languages, and performed in 36 countries.

Glorious! Is written by Peter Quilter (End of the Rainbow and the Oscar-winning film, Judy) and directed by Kirk Jameson (Song From Far Away, Madagascar: The Musical).

For summer 2026, Derby Theatre will produce and present a dazzling production of the cult classic, Little Shop of Horrors – the deliciously dark, delightfully tongue-in-cheek musical that’s charmed audiences for over 40 years.

With music by Alan Menken (Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast) and book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Little Shop of Horrors is a madcap mash-up of sci-fi, Motown and B-movie horror. Meet Seymour Krelborn, a down-on-his-luck flower shop assistant who stumbles upon a strange and exotic plant with a sinister secret: it thrives on human blood. As the plant’s appetite grows, so does Seymour’s fame and fortune – but at what cost?

Packed with unforgettable songs like Skid Row (Downtown), Suddenly Seymour, and Feed Me (Git It), this outrageous musical promises killer tunes, unexpected laughs and larger-than-life characters. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a first-time visitor to Skid Row, don’t miss your chance to experience this riotous theatrical treat at Derby Theatre.

Directed by Sarah Brigham & Orchestrator and Musical Supervisor, Matthew Malone.
