Jodie Comer with the Outstanding Achievement in British Theatre Award

On Monday 12 October, La Voix hosted the UK Theatre Awards 2026 sponsored by Encore, representing celebrating creative excellence and outstanding achievements seen on and off stage throughout England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The ceremony saw a number of awards go to Theatre Tokens members, with Theatr Clwyd securing two wins. The first was Excellence in Touring, sponsored by Theatre Tokens, for their tour of Under Milk Wood with a fully deaf, disabled and neurodivergent cast.

The second was the coveted UK's Most Welcoming Theatre Award. You can use your Theatre Tokens to book now for a show and find out how they earned the accolade.

Many other venues were recognised for their work off stage, including Buxton Opera House for Excellence in Arts Education; The Theatre, Chipping Norton for Excellence in Inclusivity; Mercury Theatre for Excellence in Sustainability and Blackpool Grand for Excellence in Workforce Culture.

The awards also recognised on-stage talent.

Jodie Comer was on hand to accept the Outstanding Achievement in British Theatre Award. This was given in recognition of her work touring her Olivier and Tony-winning performance in Prima Facie across the UK.

Adrian Lester won Best Performance in a Play for his lead role in Cyrano de Bergerac at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Julianne Pundan won Best Performance in a Musical for Miss Saigon, which toured the UK in 2026 ahead of a West End transfer next May.

The UK Theatre Awards were a reminder of the wealth of talent, diverse storytelling and innovative work taking place in theatres up and down the country.
