Privacy Policy
The Theatre Tokens scheme is administered by West End Theatre Managers Limited (WETM), trading as the Society of London Theatre, whose registered office is at 32 Rose Street, London, WC2E 9ET (company number 527227).
WETM takes your privacy seriously and this privacy policy sets out what we do with the personal information we collect on you. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act"), the data controller is WETM. All information you give us is held on servers operated by Opus Vision Limited, under an agreement with WETM. All information you give us via our telesales line is collected on our behalf by Database Marketing Partnership Limited, also under an agreement with WETM.
Fulfilling Orders
In order to fulfil your order we collect the information we need from you and in respect of any other recipient of Theatre Tokens when we take an order from you. This includes your name, address and telephone number (in order that we can check or correct any mistakes) and the name, address and telephone number of the recipient. In addition, we will take details of how you wish to pay, such as your credit card details. We do not retain your credit card details, these are deleted overnight following your order being processed.
Sending you Information
From time to time we would like to send you information on Theatre Tokens and related products and events that we think may be of interest to you as someone who has bought or expressed an interest in Theatre Tokens. There is a box you can tick to tell us that you would like to receive such information when you place an order via our website. If you do not tick that box we will not send you that information, unless you have previously given us your consent to have such information sent to you or have done so by some other means.
Other Uses Made of your Information
In addition to using your personal data to fulfil your order and/or send you information on Theatre Tokens, as outlined above, we may disclose information about you in the following instances:
- If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence;
- In order to contact you about changes to our service or this privacy policy;
- To the extent we are required to do so by law and/or in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
- To the purchaser or prospective purchaser of any business or asset which we are selling or are contemplating selling; and
- To any holding or subsidiary company of WETM.
Except as provided in this privacy policy, we will not provide your information to third parties.
Auto-recognition of your Email Address
We try to make our website convenient for you to use. To avoid you having to enter registration details each time you visit us, if you type your e-mail address into the registration box the website will recognise you and you will not need to enter your registration details again.
Cookies
We may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They also enable us to track and estimate our audience size and usage pattern. You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site.
Access to Information
The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right to access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access requests may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
Opting Out
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.
